Does the squad need to be strengthened?

Manchester United have made a good start to the season with the exception of the Burnley game Manchester United have taken full points and are now top of the Premiership. But has this justified Sir Alex Fergusons decision not to further strengthen his squad with the funds available from the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer?

Michael Owen's goal against City has helped justify the managers decision to sign the former England striker, however it seems to be the midfield area where United are currently lacking. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs have recently turned back the years to inspire United to some important wins (most noteably over Stoke where Giggs and Scholes were both outstanding), however the indifferent form of Nani, Park, Anderson and Carrick and the lack of match fitness for the returning Hargreaves has meant that United are vulnerable in the midfield area. Was it a mistake not to strengthen this area of the team?

Who do you think United should sign if anyone? Have your say here.
